Virtualization

Virtualization

Virtualizing a server enables us to create full backups of the virtual machine as it is now represented as a file. Because of this, we are able to replicate the VMs to another server to be offline replicas in the event of hardware or software failure. Each time a backup is taken it is then replicated to the standby server so that if it needs to be restored it will be as up to date as possible.

As physical hardware ages, you can migrate a virtual server from one host to another with very limited effort. This also allows for flexible hardware so that if additional RAM or CPU is required it can be allocated to the VM.
